Willie Kahn is a multi-talented singer, songwriter and instrumentalist with more than 40 years of
experience in making music. Willie was performing and touring up and down the East Coast before he was even old enough to drive. He has played piano, guitar, harp, and lap steel for a multitude of great acts such acts as Rockabilly Band, Cosmic Cowboys, Michael Shane and the Shane Gang, Kahuna Cowboys, Doc Lee and Chosen Few, and former Lynyrd Skynyrd member Leslie Hawkins.
Over these many years, Willie has played and written many great songs. Willie's latest CD, Long Hard Way, is one that is truly special, because it contains music that Willie has written throughout the course of his entire life in music.
Willie pours his soul into each song not only in the vocals, but also into an assortment of instruments as well.
In fact, Willie plays all of the instruments on Long Hard Way himself, with the exception of the percussion.
The drumming is performed by Willie's long time friend and associate, Michael Mann.
Additional backing vocals are provided by Liz Wise and Cliff Burnett. These two add a wonderfully layered texture to the deep and rich voice of Willie Kahn.
The music is played with a variety of instruments. Willie, himself, plays Acoustic and Electric Guitar, Bass, Piano, Harmonica, Dobro, Synthesizer, and Mandolin, and Banjo.
Long Hard Way is an album which reflects not only on Willie's life, but also on all of our lives, because this music was born out of living.
Living and experiencing the many years of music that has brought us all to where we are today.
It's been a long hard way.
